‘Seamus Heaney’ by Colin Davidson
Image Size 44 x 38 cm, Paper Size 61 x 50 cm
In 2013, Colin Davidson was invited by Seamus Heaney to paint his portrait. The sitting took place at the Nobel Prize winning poet’s Dublin home. It was to be the last portrait Heaney would sit for, the subsequent official painting residing in the collection of the Ulster Museum Belfast. This original lithograph was made at Belfast Print Workshop using plates made by the artist from the studies and sketches drawn during the sitting.
